Way back when I started out as the Engineering Intern for the City of Port Townsend, I watered street trees, helped design a waterline, and learned construction inspection. From there, I was hooked. I have chosen to focus on public works in my career because I love providing useful, quality of life services to people in the community where I live. Along the way, APWA has been the group that best reflects the things I love about public works: working together, making things better, sharing lessons learned. |
I had the pleasure of working with the O&M/ROADeo committee from 2017 to early 2019. The ROADeo is an important event that highlights the skills needed to keep our infrastructure running smoothly. Additionally, I worked to help MPAC provide a hybrid meeting format so that Eastern Washington members could attend trainings – pre-COVID. My first APWA conference was in 2005 as a student attendee, and I have attended and gotten involved whenever the opportunity has arisen. I’m excited to once again help out as a member of the Board of Directors. |
My current role as Transportation Manager means I have firsthand involvement in the many different components that must be combined to provide the infrastructure our communities are built upon. I am responsible for planning, funding, responding to requests and complaints from members of the community, developing projects, identifying and prioritizing maintenance, and working with development in our City. I enjoy all these aspects and look forward to applying these skills to the work that AWPA Washington does. |
